Atlanta, GA – For the second consecutive year, Alston Construction has achieved the Diamond Level in the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) STEP Safety Management System, the program’s highest designation.
Established over 30 years ago, STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) is a widely respected framework designed to measure, strengthen, and elevate safety practices across the construction industry. Companies recognized at the Diamond level consistently outperform national safety benchmarks, achieving incident rates nearly six times lower than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics construction industry average.

Each year, STEP participants complete a comprehensive evaluation of their safety policies and procedures. This rigorous process helps identify opportunities for improvement, encourages proactive planning, and reinforces a safety-first mindset throughout every level of the organization.

According to ABC’s annual Safety Performance Report, STEP Diamond participants, regardless of company size or specialty, can reduce total recordable incidents by up to 83%, making them 576% safer than the industry average.
