TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

We, at Alston Construction Company, enjoy seeing success in others. We encourage our employees to be the best they can be and to grow both personally and professionally. Part of this professional development includes participation in training, professional accreditations or certifications, and industry events. Many of our employees also actively participate in industry associations, which provide valuable resources for industry changes, best practices, and networking opportunities.

The success of each individual employee leads to the success of our project teams and the entire company, creating a win-win situation.

Slide1 I joined Alston 10 years ago as an Assistant Project Manager, and thanks to the incredible support of our leadership I was able to grow quickly into my current role as an Operations Manager. The structured training, strong leadership, and genuine culture of helping one another have been instrumental in my professional development. Alston truly invests in its people creating an empowering environment for anyone looking to build and grow their career. Justin Arce Operations Manager

Slide1 I have grown so much since starting at Alston 3 years ago. I joined as a new grad with a general understanding for project management but a lot to learn. Our team here in Nashville took the time to not only help me learn the basics like scheduling, change orders, etc. but also the aspects of project management you don’t see every day. I owe a lot of my development to Jeff Willis who went out of his way to bring me along to experience these situations first hand. Whether it was meeting with the city officials, concerned neighbors, or having difficult conversations with our own subcontractors, he brought me along. His willingness to mentor me has helped to expedite my development tremendously. Katie Pistritto Assistant Project Manager

Slide1 I was extended an offer to intern for Alston Construction in February 2015, and was promoted to a full time Project Engineer position one year later. During my year of internship, I was exposed to multiple career paths that the construction industry had to offer, including preconstruction, project management, and field supervision. Thanks to that time, I was already able to put the knowledge I learned in the classroom to use in the field before I even graduated, which gave me a huge advantage over many of my peers.
