Redding, California, August 13, 2025 — The City of Redding, Shasta EDC, and Amazon celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Amazon Delivery Station, in Redding’s Stillwater Business Park, marking a significant investment in local jobs, infrastructure, expanded logistics, and the broader Northern California economy.
The southeast Redding facility is expected to be operational in 2026. It will serve as a last-mile delivery station, streamlining the process of getting packages to customers’ doorsteps across the region and shortening rural delivery times. The delivery station will create more than 100 full-time and part-time positions, in addition to supporting dozens of ancillary jobs in the region through local delivery partners, fleet services, and business-to-business contracts.
“We’re proud to welcome Amazon to Stillwater Business Park. The project is an investment, not just in land and infrastructure, but in our people and our future,” says Jack Munns, Redding City Mayor. “It’s a testament to the value of long-term planning and regional collaboration.”
The delivery station also includes plans for sustainable building practices, traffic-efficient site design, and state-of-the-art technology.
“This project reflects years of coordinated effort to bring major investment to the North State,” said Rebecca Baer, President of Shasta EDC. “Amazon’s presence here opens the door for additional economic development and sends a clear message: Redding is open for business and ready to grow.”
The City and Shasta EDC also recognize Panattoni Development Company for its key role in this project and the long-term vision for Stillwater Business Park. Panattoni has been a critical partner in bringing the Amazon project to life, helping in the development process and continuing to support the growth of the business park as a premier site for large-scale logistics and industrial projects. Alston Construction is the general contractor.
Amazon representatives joined local and regional leaders at the ceremonial groundbreaking, thanking the community for its partnership and laying out the company’s commitment to operating as a good neighbor and job creator.
“At Amazon, we follow data to see where our customers are, and our goal is to put our facilities as close to our customers as possible to ensure fast and reliable delivery. That’s why we are so committed to serving Redding and the communities in this area, through customer deliveries and community giving and support. We remain grateful for the tremendous partnership we’ve found working with the City of Redding and Shasta EDC, and look forward to launching operations in Redding as soon as construction of the facility is complete,” Amazon Senior Manager of Economic Development Policy Stephen Maduli-Williams said.
The upcoming Redding-based delivery station is part of Amazon’s broader commitment to invest in rural America and California communities. Over the past decade, the company has created more than 150,000 direct jobs and an additional 305,000 indirect jobs through $179 billion in investments in California. There are more than 130 Amazon logistics or operational facilities in the state.
