The first project completed for Medline Industries, now a repeat client of Alston Construction, was challenging from the start. The 500,000-square-foot design-build distribution/warehouse facility had one of the most unique sites – wetlands on one side and large rocks on the other.
To overcome these challenges, massive amounts of rocks were recycled on-site during the project. Site access was also an issue for this 100-acre property due to the wetland areas, so a 40-foot long three-sided culvert bridge had to be installed spanning the wetlands.
The project is pending LEED certification, Alston took great care in helping the owner meet its “green” goals. And did it all while saving the owner money and finishing the project ahead of schedule.
